Filby, Main Road – Carriageway Resurfacing
Norfolk County Council intends to replace a section of the old worn-out surface on Main Road, Filby. These works were originally programmed for an earlier date but were rescheduled in November 2025 due to adverse weather conditions. The works are now due to start from the evening of 19 February 2026 and are expected to take up to two nights to complete, weather permitting.
To maintain a safe working environment and protect the public it will be necessary to temporarily close the road to through-traffic each night while the work is underway, between 7pm – 6am. Access to properties within the limits of the works will be maintained however due to the nature of the work there may be unavoidable delays, which the County Council apologises for in advance.
A fully signed diversion route will be in place whilst the road is temporarily closed.
On completion of the works, the new road surface will give vehicles an improved quality of ride and reduce the maintenance costs associated with older, deteriorating road surfaces.
Norfolk County Council thanks you for your patience while this essential road resurfacing work is underway.
